Brisbane operators:
from July 2026, you have 60 minutes.

From July 2026, Brisbane’s Short Stay Accommodation Law will hold operators accountable for guest behavior and requires a response to every noise complaint within 60 minutes. Minut alerts you before the complaint is even made, across every property in your portfolio.

What the law says

Brisbane City Council's Short Stay Accommodation local law takes effect July 2026. Here’s what you need to know:

A permit for stays under 90 days


All Brisbane STR operators must hold a council permit from July 2026, renewed annually.

60-minute response obligation


You must acknowledge every complaint within 60 minutes and submit a report to Council within 24 hours.

Three strikes, permit gone


Three substantiated complaints within three years may result in permanent permit revocation.
