What the law says

The City of Saint Charles, Missouri, Ordinance 22‑104 established mandatory regulations for all short term rental properties, including a noise monitoring requirement that is actively verified at each annual inspection. Here’s what you need to know:

A noise monitor in every property, inspected annually 

Every STR must have an operable noise monitoring device that notifies the host when noise is deemed unreasonable. The device must be documented and confirmed in good working order during the annual safety inspection before the permit is renewed.

45 minutes to respond to complaints 

A local contact must be available 24/7 and able to respond to complaints within 45 minutes, across every property you manage.

Permits are capped

Saint Charles has reached its maximum number of residential STR permits and is not currently accepting new applications for residentially zoned STRs. Operating permits are a limited resource, so protecting yours matters.
