Ring doorbells are in millions of homes across the US, and for good reason. They're reliable, widely trusted, and give homeowners a clear view of who's at their door.
But not for guests at short-term rental properties.
Even if guests were staying at a property that had a Ring doorbell or security camera, they couldn’t access it. That means not knowing who rang the doorbell, or enjoying the security of checking without opening the door.
There was friction for property managers as well. A noise or occupancy alert meant having to check the Ring app separately to try and piece together what’s happening at each unit.
That's what this integration changes.
Minut is now available on the Ring Appstore, Ring's new platform for third-party app integrations, and is the first app built specifically to bring Ring into rental-home workflows.
For hosts and property managers, it means Ring video, Live View, and motion events are now part of the same system you use to run your properties. For guests, it means something we think has been missing from short-term rentals for a long time: the ability to see who's at the front door, just like they would at home.

For property managers: Ring video, Live View, and motion events come directly into the Minut platform, the exact same place you already manage noise monitoring, indoor climate, and occupancy levels.
A doorbell alert means something different when you can see at a glance whether guests are checked in, what the noise levels have been, and whether anything else looks unusual. Seeing those signals together, in one place, gives hosts a clearer picture of each stay without having to check multiple tools.
For guests: the integration brings access to the Ring doorbell, something that's been missing from most rental stays. We believe that staying in a rental home should feel like being at home, and that starts with the front door. Whether it’s seeing who rang the bell, or taking a look at the security camera feed, guests now have that option.
Through the Minut Guest app, guests receive temporary access to connected Ring doorbells and cameras for the duration of their stay. This access will be automatically activated at check-in and deactivated at check-out. It uses a unique web portal link, so hosts don’t need to share their account credentials. Guests can then see who's at the door and view motion history from connected cameras, helping them feel more at home and secure in a property that isn't their own.
That last point matters more than it might seem. One of the quieter challenges in short-term rentals is building genuine trust with guests, and giving them the same visibility into the property’s front door that they'd have at home is a meaningful part of that.
One of the things that makes this integration work well for rentals is how Ring and Minut complement each other.
Ring handles what happens at the front door and around the exterior of the property. Minut handles what happens inside, without using any cameras or recordings. Noise levels, temperature and humidity, motion, guest smoking, and occupancy signals are all monitored while respecting guest privacy.
The combination means transparency in both directions: guests can enjoy the comfort and security provided by Ring’s visibility, while hosts can stay informed about what's happening inside, without surveillance. And neither comes at the expense of the other.
The Minut + Ring integration is available now on all Minut plans, for US Ring customers.
