Introducing expanded smart lock support, including August, SmartThings, and Yale.
Check-in is one of those moments that can make or break a stay. Done well, guests walk straight in with no fuss, ready to relax into vacation mode. Done poorly, they're messaging you asking why they can’t get into the property, and the rest of the stay needs to make up for the negative first impression.
Smart locks reduce this friction by replacing physical keys with digital codes. This means you no longer need to leave detailed instructions about finding the key safe, and guests can simply get the code from their phone and enter the property. Some smart locks even allow remote access, so you can open the door without being there.
By connecting your lock to Minut, you can automatically pull access codes and share them with guests at the right moment.
Minut now connects with 18 smart locks, and we’re continuing to add more. Our latest additions include some of the most widely used brands in the industry including August, SmartThings, and Yale.
Once connected, Minut can generate an access code for each stay — valid only between check-in and check-out, so you know your property is secure when the booking ends.
Once you connect your smart lock to Minut, you can set it up to automatically share the access code with your guest at the right time, typically as part of your pre-arrival messaging. You can share the details manually if you prefer, but the automation is there if you want it and you stay in control of how and when it fires.
If you’re using the Minut Guest app, you can allow it to automatically display the code for the guest and give them secure, temporary access to unlock the door directly from the app. This helps your guests feel more at home, plus the added security of being able to check if the front door is locked from wherever they are in the property.
Guests have the peace of mind of having the door code before they arrive, which removes the anxiety of wondering if they’ll be able to find the key safe, if the key has been returned, or potentially losing it during their stay. This sets the perfect tone for arrival, and can contribute to earning more 5-star reviews.
For hosts managing multiple properties, smart locks can meaningfully reduce your support messages. The code is there before the guest even thinks to ask for it.
